Armeda Anne was born December 23, 1922 in Shelby County, Illinois at home to Louis and Berte (Onion) Hudson. She attended country school through the eighth grade then received her GED certificate. Armeda and Erwin Jennes were married on October 4, 1948 in Strasburg, Ill.. To this union six children were born, David, Nancy, Roy, Lloyd, Verna and Lisa. Throughout the years, she did babysitting, cleaning for people and working at Anderson Implement for nine years.Armeda was very proud to have served her country in the Army Signal Corps as a telephone operator from 1944 to 1946. During her service she had been stationed in Austria for one year. She received the Army Commendation Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal Germany, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon and the American Flag Theater Ribbon.She was a member of the Kingsley Methodist Church and American Legion Post 291 Auxiliary in Pierson, Iowa. Armeda enjoyed reading, sewing and church work.Armeda is survived by her children, David of Des Moines, IA, Nancy (Doug) Baker of Colby, KS, Roy ( Eugenia) of Chula Vista, CA, Lloyd (Tami) of Moville, IA, Verna (Rick) Dodd of House, NM, and Lisa Elgert of McCook, SD; 15 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sister , Pauline Wagner of Shelbyville, IL.She is preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1998; great grandson, Jonathan VanVoorst; brothers, Ralph and Paul Hudson; and a sister, Melba Ethridge.
