Obituary

Bruce Duane Burnham, age 73, of Kingsley, Iowa, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026, at his home in Kingsley after a brief battle with cancer.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2026 at Kingsley Funeral Home & Monument in Kingsley with Pastor BJ Van Kalsbeek officiating. Burial will be at Kingsley Cemetery at a later date. Visitation with family present will be 10-11a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Services have been entrusted to Kingsley Funeral Home & Monument www.kingsleyfh.com

Bruce was born Aug. 6, 1952 in Grinnell, Iowa the son of Robert & Marilyn (Sparks) Burnham. He was raised and educated at Grinnell, graduating in 1970 from Grinnell High School. He then attended Trinity Christian College in Chicago, IL graduating in 1971. This is where he met Valorie McGaffey. They married in 1972. Together they raised two children, Sarah & Wesley. They later parted ways. He later attended National Education Center in Des Moines, IA, graduating in 1990.

In 1992 he married Robin Louderback at First Church of The Nazarene in Sioux City, IA. The couple made their home in Kingsley. Bruce spent many years working as a programmer at Gateway in North Sioux City, SD. He also delivered and fixed office supplies and then finished his working years at the local lumberyard in Kingsley.

Bruce had many hobbies, but the one he was most passionate about was photography. He loved setting up yearly photo shoots with fellow photographers. He won many awards and has several photos on display around town. Bruce also loved building. He became a master woodworker while working with his dad in his shop during junior high and high school years. He continued to use these skills throughout the years and complete many home renovation projects. In his later years he enjoyed going on annual trips to Minnesota to see the Vikings play. He also enjoyed going to his grandkids activities and cooking. He was always trying new recipes, some worked and some did not. One of his most beloved dishes was meatloaf. He loved spending time outdoors working in his yard.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Robin Burnham of Kingsley, IA; children, Wesley (Darlene) Burnham of Wellman, IA, Holly (Todd) Jorgensen of Sloan, IA, Jennifer (Troy ) Stubbs of Sioux City, IA; ten grandchildren, Blake, Alexander, Christopher, Kaitlyn, Addison, Lauryn, Cameron, Reagan, Ethan and Elle; two great-grandchildren, Shane and Austin; sister, Kathy (Lowell) Vanderploeg of Grinnell, IA; in-laws, Don (Jennice) Reimert of Newport News, VA, Alan Reimert of Bozeman, MT, Deb Ray of Oskaloosa, IA, Audrey (Dana) Talbert of Washta, IA; numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Marilyn Burnham; his step-mother, Velma Burnham; brother, Steve Burnham, and sister-in-law, Connie Morrison; parents-in-law, Elmer & Ethel Rock.
