Duane G. Pencil, 58 of Sioux City, IA, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022, at his residence in Sioux City.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2022, at Rohde Funeral Home in Kingsley, IA.  Visitation will be 5 - 7:00 p.m. Sunday, with the family present during this time at the funeral home.  The visitation will continue Monday at 9:00 a.m. until service time the Rohde Funeral Home

Duane Glen Pencil was born November 24, 1963, to Harold and Rosemary (Drake) Pencil in Waterloo, IA. Duane and Christine Hool were married June 18, 1988. After their marriage Duane and Christine raised their family in Sioux City, IA. Duane was very involved with his family in many activities. He was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Duane is survived by his wife, Christine, 6 children, Phillip, Patricia, Stephanie, Leanna, Heather, and Amara, 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Also, he is survived by his brother, Monty Pencil and in-laws, Max and Patty (Eastman) Hool. 

He was preceded in death by a son Michael Duane Pencil, his parents, aunts, and uncles.
