Gayle D. Morgan, 64 of Kingsley, Iowa passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 13, 2025.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Kingsley Funeral Home & Monument with Pastor Jim Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery in Moville, Iowa. There will be a visitation with family present Wednesday, 5-7 p.m. at Kingsley Funeral Home & Monument in Kingsley, IA. The family requests that you dress casual, wear Vikings attire, or Morgan Merch for the VISITATION. Visitation will resume Thursday from 9:30–10:15 a.m. at the funeral home.

Gayle Duane Morgan was born in Sioux City, Iowa on January 31, 1961, to Jerry and Lucille (Scheelhaase) Morgan. He was raised and educated in Moville, Iowa, graduating from Woodbury Central in 1979.

On August 19, 1980, Gayle married Connie Borkowski in Clinton, MO. The couple made their home in Moville, where they raised their family. In this union three beautiful daughters were born, April, Jenifer and Trish. After 24 years together the couple parted ways. Gayle later moved to Kingsley where he lived with his fiancé Shelly Schweitzberger of 19 years.

Over the years Gayle worked at Davy’s and Jim’s Feed Store in Moville, IA then King Farms in Lawton, IA. He was a very dedicated hard worker and was skilled to fix anything. Though you would often find Gayle working, fixing things or having a beer with friends he also had many hobbies. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and playing Santa. He had a passion for cars, especially race cars, demo cars and collector cars. He also loved camping, traveling and anything that allowed him to spend time with family and friends. If you became a friend of Gayle’s, you were a friend for life.

He had a special love for the family farm that was built by his grandparents. He spent much of his youth making memories and later raised his children there. He continued to work on the farm until his final day.

Gayle is survived by his three daughters, April (Jamie) Joy of Washta, IA, Jenifer (Darin) Cleveringa of Lawton, IA, Trish (Matt) Nelson of Moville, IA; nine grandchildren, Hailey (Cody Bevers) Joy, Jaquelin (Austin) Ronfeldt, Jaxson Joy, Collin Dunnington, Jersey Dunnington, Keigan Dunnington, Isaac Cleveringa, Ty Nelson, Alex Nelson; 3 great-grandchildren, Bryce and Asher Ronfeldt, Caden Bevers; his mother, Lucille Morgan of Moville, IA; sister, Leneah (Curt) Havlicek of Moville, IA; brother, Chad (Angie) Morgan of Moville, IA; his fiancé Shelly Schweitzberger of Kingsley, IA; four bonus children, and 10 bonus grand-children; along with nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Morgan; grand parents, Ruby and Andy Morgan, Ernest and Rachel Scheelhasse; and his previous wife Connie Borkowski.

Casket Bearers will be: Jamie Joy, Justin Dunnington, Darin Cleveringa, Zach Schweitzberger, Matt Nelson, Andrew Schweitzberger.

Honorary Bearers will be: Hailey Joy, Jaquelin Ronfeldt, Jaxson Joy, Collin Dunnington, Jersey Dunnington, Keigan Dunnington, Isaac Cleveringa, Ty Nelson and Alex Nelson.
