Mary Lou (Junck) Mockler, age 93 of Kingsley, Iowa, passed away Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025 at Mankato, MN
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 24, 2025 , at St. Michael Catholic Church in Kingsley, IA. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery, Kingsley, IA. Visitation with family present will be Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. with vigil prayer service at 4 p.m. all at Kingsley Funeral Home & Monument in Kingsley, IA. Visitation will resume Monday from 9:30-10:15 a.m. at the church. Services have been entrusted to Kinglsey Funeral Home & Monument, kingsleyfh.com
Mary Lou was born December 23, 1931, at Sioux City, IA, to Fred and Hazel (Nuessle) Junck. She grew up near Leeds, IA, and in 1944 moved with her family to a farm northwest of Kingsley. She attended country school in Plymouth County and graduated from Union Consolidated School in 1948, which she was Valedictorian of her graduating class of seven people.
Mary Lou attended National Business Training College in Sioux City. She worked for Hess & Hess Attorneys in Kingsley from 1951 to 1955. After her children were grown, she also worked as a bookkeeper for Elmer’s Bakery and Rolling Oil Company, also in Kingsley.On February 23, 1954, Mary Lou married her high school sweetheart, Robert Mockler at St. Michael’s Church in Kingsley. They farmed and raised their family north of Kingsley until they moved to Kingsley in 1996. Bob passed away July 1, 2012.
She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. She especially loved her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.
Mary Lou is survived by her seven children, Bill Mockler (LoAnn), of Crystal MN, LeAnne Collins (Rob) of Milford IA, Linda Mockler (Carl Bliss) of San Diego CA, Lois Mockler of LeMars IA, Dan Mockler (Colleen) of Kingsley IA, Alan Mockler (Tiffany) of Kingsley IA, and Andrea Sitzmann (Dave) of Sherburn MN, also by brother Duane (Pat) Junck of Kingsley; sister-in-law, Connie Junck; also surviving Mary Lou are 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents; her husband who was the love of her life; two brothers, Bernard (Bonnie) Junck and Leroy Junck; her father & mother-in-la, Ed & Pearl Mockler; brother-in-law, Paul (Nancy) Mockler, Jack (Mary Lou) Mockler, Jim Mockler; sister-in-law, Mary Anne (Wayne) Case.
Casket bearers will be Ben Collins, Nate Collins, Jon Collins, Meghan Bliss, Hannah Bliss, Carly Kurzenhauser, Samantha Krumwiede, Mitchell Sitzmann.
