Richard "Rick" Rolling, age 69 passed away Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026 at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23, 2026 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Kingsley, IA with Fr. Randy Schon officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Kingsley, IA. Visitation with family present will be Thursday from 4-7 p.m. with a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. at Kingsley Funeral Home & Monument in Kingsley. He was born in Le Mars on August 23, 1956, the son of Mark and Helen (Sherlock) Rolling. He graduated in 1974 from Gehlen High School in Le Mars. In 1975 he graduated from Western Iowa Tech with a degree in auto mechanics. He farmed with his dad from 1976 to 1979. In December of 1975 he began working part time for Becker and Ditter Oil Company. Dale Becker sold his interest in Becker and Ditter Oil Co. to Rick, in 1980. In 1990 Arnold Ditter retired and Rick purchased the remainder of the business, which is now Rolling Oil Company.
He was an active member of the K.C.A.C. and held various offices in that organization. He also served on the Brookside Golf Course Board of Directors for six years and Kingsley City Zoning Board of Adjustments. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and was a avid Chicago Bears fan. He enjoyed his Sunday morning breakfast with friends at Johnny Mars and Tuesday Euchre league with his buddy Barry. You could find him visiting with friends, over a Miller Genuine Draft and a glass of ice.
Survivors include his siblings; Gary (Ginger) Rolling of LeMars, IA, Nancy (Bob) Aragon of Sturgis, SD, Ron (special friend Beth) Rolling of Le Mars, IA, Neal (Cristy) Rolling of Kingsley, IA; nieces & nephews, Craig Rolling, Brad (Shaina) Rolling, K.C. (Chelsea) DeVos, Nyles and Noah Rolling; great-nieces & nephews, Luke, Leo, Lauren, Logan, Levi, Trinity, Presley, Hadleigh; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Helen Rolling; infant brother Thomas.
Casket bearers will be Nyles Rolling, Noah Rolling, Barry Thompson, Lonnie Wenzel, Scott Toliver, Jeff Schmid.
